CYSPEED motor spindles by CYTEC are built from a modular kit and cover almost the entire spectrum of milling, drilling and grinding tasks:

  • Power: from 13 kW to 115 kW rated power (S1), with S6 ratings of up to 138 kW for intermittent duty.
  • Torque: rated torque from 20 Nm for high-speed machining up to 700 Nm (S1) – and up to 1,200 Nm with planetary gear option (i = 3) on the CSG series.
  • Speed: maximum speeds of up to 24,000 rpm, depending on the series and bearing concept.
  • Tool interfaces: HSK-A63, HSK-A100, SK50 and C8 – matched to your tooling standard.
  • Milling head compatibility: every spindle can be checked against the CYMILL head series (NANO, P, S, S-HD, M-HD, G, G-HD, T and K) directly in the selector.

How to use the selector effectively

Start with the basic filters for minimum power, torque, speed and tool interface. For a concrete machining task, use the peak filters: enter the spindle speed your process requires and the torque it must deliver at that speed – the selector calculates the available torque along each spindle's characteristic curve (full torque up to the base speed nbase, then decreasing with rpm) and shows only spindles that truly meet your operating point. Add candidates to the compare list, review them side by side, and export a PDF datasheet of your favorite including the performance chart.

Frequently asked questions
  • What is the difference between S1 and S6 ratings? S1 is the continuous duty rating a spindle can deliver permanently; S6 is an intermittent duty rating with higher short-term power and torque. Use S1 for roughing over long cycles, S6 for processes with load breaks.
  • Can CYTEC customize a spindle for my machine? Yes. The CYSPEED modular kit allows customer-specific configurations – motor type, interface, length, sensors and cooling are adapted to your application.
  • Which spindle fits my CYMILL milling head? Activate “Select by milling head” in the selector and choose your head series – only mechanically compatible spindles remain selectable.
